Note about setting records at this meet.
Maryland State Powerlifting Records:
These are our standard Maryland State Powerlifting records. These records are sometimes referred to as the “gear” records. Approved single ply gear may or may not be used to set these records. These records are separate from the raw (unequipped) records.
Maryland State Powerlifting Raw Records:
There is a raw division at this meet also known as Unequipped. To set raw records, all of the attempts must be done raw. Raw/Unequipped lifting is defined as using only the following gear and accessories as previously described in the rulebook:
a) Non-supportive singlet
g) Wrist wraps
h) Neoprene knee sleeves w/o tightening
In this meet, there are only 3 age divisions. Junior (age 23 and under), Open (all age divisions), Master (age 40 and above). Although there are only those divisions at the meet, a lifter can still break records for their age divisions.
Age divisions are broken down as follows:
Maryland State Resident
A lifter must be a resident of the state of Maryland or the District of Columbia to set or break Maryland State records.
Exceed by 1.1 pounds
All existing records must be broken by at least 1.1 pounds (0.5 kg).
